A buzzard can grow up to 51-56 in size. They have brown backs and a whitish underneath. They soar and sweep in the air on broad wings. They have short heads and they have very well rounded tails. Their call is sort of a mewing sound . Their habitat is on hills and coasts. They nest near well-wooded areas and they breed here  in Scotland.

It can also be orange brown or grey. It has a slimy back and has a hole on the mantle so it can breathe. It eats rotten vegetation. We saw it on the track up the Black Glen.

The Erupting Bog

Half way across the walk we stopped to look at a bog. Mrs Lindsay told us to jump, so we did and bubbles started to come up on the surface and all the water skaters skated away. All of us thought it was really funny. Then all of us did it again, it was fun. The bog  was an erupting bog, It wobbled under our feet.

THE BLACK WATER

The river on our left swirled round and round

Like whirlpools in the sea,

The foam was like white horses

The water as fast as could be.
