Completed  Without Rain.

On Tuesday the 21st of May we started the sports. My leader was Jennie Robertson, I was in a team with  Anna, Alastair, Alexandria, Sarah, Katie, Lewis, and Xavier. We started off with the fancy dress and we came second. After that performance we went on to our next course, the mini obstacle course and we came third in that one. On our next one we used sacks. We had to find our way across to the other side without touching the grass with our feet, we did quite well, we came second. The water race was the best, you had to run under the tarpaulin with a bucket of water- we came joint second, after that it was lunch. I had coca cola, a  roll and  packet of crisps. After lunch it was the afternoon races. I was in the Flat Race to start off with and I came first. Then I did the shot put and I came fifth.

At the obstacle course I thought I was going to win but I lost by an inch to a boy from Strontian . Then I got a can of coca cola from the tuck shop. I went over to the long jump pit, the p.7 boys were competing, I was talking to Nathan from Kilchoan, he was cool. When we started our long jump we had to chose a number, I was number 18, I won the long jump. After the long jump I joined Isla, Darren, Kyle, Euan and Gordon for the relay. We raced against Ardgour and Strontian and we got through to the final. We ran against Achaphubuil, Ardgour and Acharacle, unfortunately we came last. I thought it was really good fun, I think everybody enjoyed it.

                THE WEATHER SMILED ON US   

Yesterday it was sports day. We were in teams. I was in a team with Rachel, Joshua, John, Katy, Sine and Annie. We were team 4. The first race was the slalom. You had to run in and out of cones. I went there and back to get Rachel then Joshua then John and so on. Mr. Turnbull blew the horn and we all stopped. My team got 1^st place. Next it was the water race, you had to crawl through a  tarpaulin with a bucket of water, we came 2^nd  with 21cm of water. The winning team got 22cm. The next race was the fancy dress, we came 1^st with team 14. The next race was the adventure course, we came 2^nd with team 14 again. In The sack race we came 2^nd

After all that, it was lunch. I had 4 cheese sandwiches, a milky way, sweets and a fruitshoot.  It was the races now, I was 4^th  in flat race. It was finally the relay, we got into our teams. We managed to get into the final but we lost.  Ardgour won. Jakob got a cup, but it was a good day.

THE WILD OBSTACLE  COURSE

  Three, two, one, GO! I hoped I would come second, well first actually, but there was no way I could win. I was running for my life. I jumped over the long jump but Daniel and Douglas fell over. They were in P4 in my class. I was in P4 but the other P4s were not in our school. After that part I was third. Then I had to go under this tarpaulin and after that cross the finishing line. So I zoomed under the tarpaulin but two other people were already at the finishing line. But I was pleased I came third.

The Famous Sun

  Today is sports day and I am really excited. I am going to the park to meet Kerry I said to my dad, so I did. When we got up there I changed into my shorts, it was a cold breeze but the sun was shining brightly.                After that Mr Turnbull put us into teams. I was in team five, the leader of my team was called Sian Morrison. 

The children in my team were Daniel, Amber, Katie, Oskar, Alan and me. There were more but I can’t remember. The first thing we went to was the long jump, we all got two turns each. The first jump that I did was not as far as the second one. When I was running up to the line I felt that I was going to fall but luckily I didn’t. I was number seventeen. When it was lunch time I was allowed to buy a toffee apple at the tuck shop. After we had all finished our lunch we started again. I started with the obstacle course, so did Kerry and Lisa. After that we went on to the flat race. At the end  the relay was on and Lochaline came fourth.

THE OBSTACLE RACE

The obstacle race was  one of my favourite races.

You have to jump over some poles, go round a barrel, go through some tyres, under a plastic cover, go round another barrel and across the finish line.    When the race started I was in front until the jumps, someone pushed me over.   I thought that I was going to be last in the race until I reached the plastic cover. I crawled as fast as I could. When I got out of it I ran as fast as I could but Oskar just beat me. 

I was pleased with fourth place.          

 It doesn’t matter if you win or lose it just matters if you had fun and you enjoyed yourself.

In the afternoon of sports day the primary fours got called for the obstacle course. I was really nervous about it. The horn went and it was loud. The first thing to do was to jump three coloured hurdles . As I came up to the first jump I nearly fell over it because there were people pushing and shoving but I got over it. The next was the four tyres and I felt as if I was going to get to the finishing line first. It was fun going over the tyres but there were still two things to do. As I went through the tyres I noticed that Alyson and my mum were cheering for me I couldn’t hear them.

Under the tarpaulin it was green and hard because there were cones on top of it. Also people were pushing to get through. The grass was damp so we all had wet knees but we didn’t care. I felt great to be in second place under there, but when we crawled out of it there were three sets of  cones to go in and out of.

I was excited going in and out of the cones because even though I was now second last I felt I was doing well. The finishing line was in sight and I raced past the line. I came second last but I was pleased with myself. This was a race to enjoy I thought to myself, but the race was really hard. 

Kerry 

Mr Turnbull screamed through his megaphone for all of the relay teams to go to the middle of the field. Our team got muddled up because we didn’t know which end to start at. We only just got to the end because we saw Miss MacAusline giving out the batons. I was really excited because I knew that our relay team was one of the fastest for years. I was nervous because I thought we might drop the baton or not let go of it. In the first heat we were against Strontian and Ardgour. We easily beat Strontian but Ardgour were a different matter, they pushed us right to the end but we still managed to pull through. In the final we were against Acharacle, Ardgour and Achaphubuil, we had a lot to prove. I felt really annoyed because Achaphubuil had a huge head start. They were put about half way up the field but I realised that they were including a P1. After the race I felt very disappointed because we came fourth. Ardgour came in first, Acharacle came in second, Achaphubuil were third, I was really annoyed. After the day had finished my legs felt as if they had just been on a bonfire. I was very happy with the teams performance even though I thought we could have done a bit better.
