Snow

Monday 3rd Feb

Well, I told them I would....they didn't believe me......

This is the story....

We woke in Morvern to a good few inches of snow, so I knew before hand, that today would be fun for the children at school. There would be snowball fights, snowmen building, igloo making and such activities.

What I didn't know at that time, was that the children who travel to Tobermory High, couldn't get to school this morning......but that's the second part of the story!

I took my camera to school, in the hope that I would get some photographs of all the children having fun in the snow. I sneaked out just before it was time to ring the bell and managed to get a few photos of them having a snowball fight. It was still snowing but they were oblivious.....

Here they are

I refrained from going out at break time......but after lunch......foolishly....I went out, camera in hand, no coat, gloves etc., to see how everyone was getting on.

I knew that some of my ex-pupils had come to join us this lunchtime, they're a good bunch, and I'd taught all of them for many years, some of them even had the misfortune to have me as their teacher for six whole years! I think it can safely be said we know each other very well! I found them all out there having a magnificent snowball fight, children of all ages, five up to fifteen, all smiling and laughing and running and falling and being pelted with snowballs....I was a bit jealous!

However......I was spotted....and Shaun decided it might just be some fun to throw snowballs at Miss......(He thought I was joking when I said I was going to put this on the web) Of course, Miss was well aware of what was going to happen next! To begin with just a few of the older ones...Shaun, David, Calum and Ian threw snowballs (and their aim was a bit rubbish too!) then the younger ones got bolder and started to join in...

I'm amazed I actually managed to get some photographs, it wasn't easy while being bombarded!

This is what I managed to capture....the last one is taken while I was 'running' away!

The very little ones were busy making snowmen round the corner, they were a bit surprised to see me covered in snow but were still keen to show me their snowman.

Shaun, Ian, Calum, David and Donald all asked to come in to school for the afternoon, despite having pelted me with snowballs! Of course I let them in! They tried to tell me the school was getting smaller...and refused to believe it was they who were getting bigger...

Guess what? The boys didn't make it to school today (wed 5th) either!!

If you click on Page Two you will get the chance to read Shaun's reply to my statements! (I made the three who came in today do some writing for me...)
